Beautiful Freak is a 1996 studio album recorded by Mark Oliver Everett and the first under the band name eels. Released under the DreamWorks label the original release features twelve tracks including the band's first two singles "Novocaine for the Soul" and "Susan's House" and the song "My Beloved Monster" which appeared on the soundtrack for the original Shrek movie.

Running for 43 minutes and 53 seconds the album was produced by Jon Brion, Mark Goldenberg, Mike Simpson and Mark Oliver Everett himself. A later German re-issue (1997) of the album also included a bonus disc adding four tracks from a live BBC recording session. Three of these bonus tracks were later released on the Useless Trinkets: B-Sides, Soundtracks, Rarities and Unreleased 1996–2006 album, released in 2008.
